A book that Bella loves and Edward hates. Outside of the Twitard universe, Pride and Prejudice is a novel written by Jane Austen. The novel is known by many readers as a comedy of manners, a satire that makes fun of the way that people behave. The main characters of the book are Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy. They both have to deal with the manners, upbringing, morality, and the idea of what a marriage is made of in 19th century England. Meyer states that her inspiration for Bedward came from these two characters. Bitch, please.
What Meyer thinks about Pride and PrejudiceEdit
Meyer had said in an interview that Bella and Edward's
lust twu wuv is better than Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy's because if Mr. Darcy died, Elizabeth would not kill herself and would bravely go on with life, and vice versa. What kind of strong female protagonist would do such a thing? Meyer criticizing classic books isn't new, but the suggestion that if a person really loves another person, they would have to kill themselves if the other died left many antis questioning Meyer's sanity. This also makes antis wonder what would happen if Steph's husband, Pancho, happened to die. Hrm...
